Question:
Why is low/no sugar and carbs so important? What about salt?

I'm waiting to here from my insurance company, but I was thinking that Ensure would be good for a meal, but somebody posted that it is high in sugar? Also, what over the counter vitamin is best for a women of 28 who plans to have LGB?    — Erin M S. (posted on January 30, 2000)

sugar is very inportant because it turns to fat when it is not burned and when u have surgery it will make u very very sick if eaten. Ensure is not good because it is high in sugar but the drink Resource diabetic is a good drink. It hold all the vitamins and proteins we need w/o the sugar. CVS pharmacy ordered it for me and it does not contain lactose for people who are lactate intollerent. e-mail address [email protected]

Erin, My surgeon says flintstones chewable - 2x per day. If you eat sugar you will go through the dumping syndrome. Also by not eating high sugar/carbs - you will lose faster. You must eat your protein first - it is what you need not to lose your muscle mass.
