Question:
Has ANYONE lost 35 lbs and that's it?

I am REAllY beginning to worry. I am 4 months out and I've lost 35 lbs and that's it. I don't gain but I don't lose. I am doing all the exercise I am going to be able to do and I get in the protein requirements and am faithful about water and vitamins. Has anyone just lost this much and no more?    — [Anonymous] (posted on July 20, 2000)

When I increased my calories and tried to limit the baked potatoes...carbs/stach...I started losing a whole lot more.

If you're not taking in enough calories your metabolism will slow down because your body thinks it's starving to death. If too few calories isn't the problem try weight training. It may initally add a couple of lbs from muscle but it will get your metabolism going.

Just to add a thought to the others: What type of surgery did you have? Some have had RNY but the stomach was just stapled across and not transected. Some have had the staple line open up on them. Just a thought.

Well, you sound like me. I am 14 wks post op and I have only lost 35 pounds and I am working out at a gym 3 times per week. Last week I gained 3 pounds. I saw my surgeon this week and she wasn't worries about it. She feels that since I am working out I will naturally gain a few pounds building muscle. She told me to eat less carbs and more protien. I guess I will waiy it out, It's hard when I have friend who had the surgery three weeks after me and have lost 60 and 75 pounds.
