Question:
Has anyone suffered sharp stomach pains and severe foot cramps post-op

I am 14 months post-op and I have been having very sharp stomach pains down the incision. They don't last too long but they hurt very bad. It is almost like it is stinging me. Then I have also in recent months developed what I at first thought wer just charlie horses in my feet and legs. Now I do not know. The cramps get so bad that my feet will curl up and my legs will not now. The cramps start in my mid-calf and spread from there. I cannot stand and the only way the leave is if my husband socks me in the leg repreateded (not Very hard - but hard enough) I am then sore from the cramps and can barely stand. Is anyone else having this problem?    — anitawilson (posted on September 11, 2000)

The stinging pain could be the nerves growing back along the incision. There were several posts recently about leg cramps, so you may want to go back a few days to find them. There's alot of information about supplements. Whenever I feel a leg cramp coming on, I immediately point my toes toward the ceiling ...or stand up and walk. If I catch it quick enough, it goes away before it hurts. Of course it's always best to ask your doctor...Good Luck.

Hi, The pain at the pointof your scar is healing. It will go away. I had the same exact cramps and thanks to this site I found out that it was a lack of potassium and calcium. Even if you think you are taking enough go get your levels checked. I did not even go to the doctor, I just increased the two and in 32 hours cramps were gone and never returned. I got chewable Tums for the calcium. I am not suggesting that you dont go see your doctor. I just wanted you to know what I experienced. Good Luck...Peace Trina
