Question:
In regards to the stapling of the stomach, would a reaction to metal be possible?

I have a metal allergy (nickle). I wonder if the internal staples are made with this metal. Could I have a reaction to them as I have had with other surgical staples?    — April B. (posted on February 18, 2001)
