I started out at 275 I'm 5'7". I am 8 months post op and down 97 pounds. Rate of loss is different for everyone. I know a lady who lost 100 pounds in 5 months and another who did it in a year. My personal goal is to lose 100 pounds. I am frustrated that I can't seem to drop these last 3. I have to remind myself of the 97 I've already lost. I have come a long way and I am proud of my success this far. It's hard not to compare your weight loss with that of others, and we really shouldn't compare. Our bodies are all very different. You are doing well with your loss, keep up the good work.

Hi Wendy, your weight loss has been great. And after the 6 month mark, it begins to slow down, so we have to be patient. If there was an average weight loss- you seem to be there. I probably hit my 100lb. weight loss mark at about 7-8 months post-op. I'm now almost 11 months and have lost 115 total. I weight 135, but want to be at 130. If you want to try to break your plateau- increase your water, up your protein, exercise an extra day, etc. Or if you wait it out- it will eventually break. Try switching up your routine and changing some food patterns- that always seems to help me! Goodluck to you

Well, I don't know exactly when it was. According to my profile, I don't have a recorded weight between 6 weeks and 6 months. However, at 6 months I had lost 105 pounds. I would have to guess it was at 5 months that I had lost exactly 100. I started at 263. BTW-You're doing great! Shelley

It is different for everyone. As a general rule, the heavier you are to start with, the quicker you make it to the 100 pound mark. I am 14 months post-op and stuck between 96-98 and have been this way for a few months. I know I will see 100 or more (and goal was 105) but it sure would be nice to be there already...

I made the 100 mark at 5 1/2 months. I agree with the other posters - it's a very individual thing. I am now 13 months out and have lost 160, so as you see, it took nearly 7 months to lose the next 60 after I hit the 100 mark. It definitely slows down - or atleast it has for me. I have been stuck at my current weight for about 7 weeks now. I still want to lose another 15 lbs, but boy the scale isn't budging right now!

Started at 268 lbs. on day of consult (3/25/02); lost 12 pounds, down to 256 lbs., by day of surgery (5/30/02); reached first "100-pound loss" mark in mid-December 2002 (down to 168 lbs. from 268 lb. consult weight); reached 100-pound loss mark in mid-January 2003 (down to 156 lbs. from 256 lb. day-of-surgery-weight); reached goal in late February 2003 (147 lbs.; I'm 5'7"). Since then, bouncing between 144 -148 lbs., and holding. :~D

I hit 100 pounds in 6 months. However, it does slow down. Between 6 months and 11 months only 38 pounds. I am still so amazed everyday at 138 pounds gone. I started at 310.

Even though I'm a slow poke...I'm SO HAPPY to be able to actually answer this question. Just hit 100 lbs. lost about a week ago, a few days shy of my 11 months anniversary. Twelve more to goal. Hugs, Joy
