I have started a plateau breaker group and we are going to be doing a test over the next 4 weeks. Keep an eye out on the main boards for our posts and see if it works for us. I will be happy to share all the info as we go along. Best of luck in breaking your plateau too. Hugs from your Okie friend,

Sorry I can't help you. I'm only 2 1/2 months post op. What I do want to know is what kind of protein vitamins do you take? How many grams of protein do they provide? I didn't know there is such a thing. Good luck with getting the scales to budge in your favor. Congrats on the loss that you have had so far!!! m

Do you eat ANYTHING made with white flour or white sugar? That stops my weight loss cold!

Hi, I'm post-op 14 months and down 140lbs. I've been struggling to lose for the last 6 months. It's frustrating because I watch myself gain 7lbs in 2 days and it takes 6 weeks to take off. I've been averaging about a 5lb loss/month for the last 8 months. I found these high protein supplements, protein bars(22g), shakes(35g) and meal replacement bars(15) that taste really great and started using them last month. It gave me a boost and I lost 12lbs in Jan but I am plateauing again. Let me know if you would like info on those supplements, you can only buy them on the net. I'd just try shocking your system and changing your whole routine for a while. Good Luck! - Nicole ([email protected])

I work out almost every day and my trainer at the wellness center has me change routines about every 3 months. Example: weight training - 3 days a wk. with cardio, cardio - 45 minutes - 2days a week. I have maintained well maybe losing a pound here and there. The inches are coming off and I have dropped two sizes in 6 months. PS we had the same surgeon --Dr Pop BTC

I was two years out on the 31st of January. I lost most of my weight by about 10 months out, bottomed out 2 weeks short of a year and have bouned around w/in 8 pounds of my lowest weight ever since. Even though I am under my 'ideal' weight, I would still like to lose another 10+ pounds from where I am at now. Back about 2 months I did some checking and found a site that gave me a ballpark idea of my basal metabolic rate...how many calories I would burn if I slept all day. So, I took that number and cut out about 3-500 calories off of it (some days went up to that amount)...and went back to a strictly protien diet. Well, lo and behold I lost weight! I actually got 5 pounds under my all time low! I was so excited. Unfortunately, I went back to eating 'normal' and gained back 9 pounds in 7 days...I have no idea what was up with that. Well, now I'm back down three of those pounds, and right back where I started! My point is, I know it can be done...maybe easier said than done...but, done! Maybe try finding your BMR and tracking your calories and see if you need to cut back some...which is kind of tricky because the less you weigh, the less you need to eat to maintain that weight. You could also try going back to the basics, protein, water, exercise - for a week or so and see if that gets things going. Good luck to you!

I agree with the poster who says she changes her workout routine every two months. Walking is good, but if you have reached a plateau then maybe you should step it up. I say this as someone who never exercised, but after three years and the fact that I am able to eat more and have gained a little. I just joined curves. I'm cheap. I know if I put my money down, I'll stick with it! It's only been a few days, but I can tell the difference already in the way my clothes fit. The only problem is I am getting married in May and I'm worried about whether my wedding dress will fit!
