Question:
Patients of Dr. Patterson in PDX?!?!?!!?

Will Dr. Patterson operate on me if my BMI is 67? Will she insist that I lose weight prior to surgery, will I qualify for lap RNY or will I get stuck with open? Will she do an open surgery? Will Dr. Friedman do any of the above? I'm getting anxious! HELP!    — jenn2002 (posted on August 4, 2001)

Hello I am also a patient of Dr. Patterson's though my consult is not until November. You ask many good questions, unfortunatly I think the Doctor is the only one who can answer them for you. There are many factors that she will consider regarding the proper surgical course for you, and you alone. I really CAN identify, the waiting is murder. I can tell you from my own research that Dr. Friedman does not do any procedures lap, yet..I hear it's in the works but don't know much more than that (I was going to see him until I discovered Dr. Patterson). Only Dr. Patterson with your help can answer these questions. She did my LAP R-N-Y on 2-2-01 and I just had my 6 month follow up last week and I have lost 119 pounds. I can't say enough good things about her and the job she does!! My only problem is that we moved away 6 weeks after surgery. You can view my profile in OHIO under my name now. Good Luck!!
