Question:
How long aftter surgery does it take for you to be

I am a 31 y.o. woman who is in the process of having surgery and I am curious as to how long it takes you after having surgery to want to have sex? And if fairly soon, what types of positions would you suggest so that you dont bust your incision? Not meaning to be graphic just curious.    — fngrs132 (posted on March 26, 2002)

My husband and I both had surgery on 3/12/02... He had open and I had lap... One week and one day later we resumed "relations"... It was so funny!! We were both kind of awkward and sore....but it was so nice to reconnect!!! Just go slow and do what feels the best...GOOD LUCK!!!! PS We both have experienced a definite INCREASE in sex drive!

LOL this question made me laugh!! I was ready to 'have relations' while I was still in the hospital! However I waited 6 weeks. My fiance said he wanted a ntoe from my doctor saying 6 weeks was enough of a wait - he was scared to bust a stitch! As for positions, I think it depends on your body. I was careful not to let him lay directly on top of me...and all was fine! Good Luck!

It said in my medical packet that we could resume sex at any time, just listen to your body. I MADE my husband wait one month to the day!!! LOL it was so funny, but the sex was great! He told me he should be mad at me because he didn't know I could &*$# like that. After 1 month I had lost 30 lbs and was feeling pretty good about my self. Sex drive has deeply increased 100 fold... Enjoy it!

I waited a whole 7 days after Open RNY to resume "relations". We steered away from the "missionary" and tried other things - use your imagination!!

Like a kid in 3rd grade - made me giggle too but I believe it's because I'm always trying to word my answers or questions on here so that I don't get TOS'd. HA ~ all I can say about this question is this: I CAN'T WAIT ! :)

When my hubby asked the surgeon about the "wait", the surgeon sort of danced around the question and never gave him a straight answer. My answer was a simple don't worry dear, there are ways to be happy even when you can't have sex. I proceeded to remind him of those first 6 weeks after the birth of our son when we had lots of fun being very imaginative and creative to find satisfaction when we weren't allowed intercourse. If I remember correctly, we had some playfullness the second day I was home from the hospital, then I was back in for 2 days, and by 10 days post-op open VBG I was back sleeping in our bed like old times, just with a few extra pillows.
