Question:
Hi, I am 17 mos. post op and have developed abdominal pain.

Well we went on vacation and it started there. I went to the hospital a couple of days ago, because it has gotten so bad. I have incredible gas, and lots of pain. I do have smal Bowell Movements. Can this be a bowel obstruction?    — Martha L. (posted on September 22, 2002)

This certainly sounds like what I experienced when I was treated for the scar tissue obstruction. It continued to get worse until I had to have surgery to clear it. Two things that were clear indicators: when you eat, does your abdomen extend? (I looked like I was about 4 months pregnant after a small meal). And secondly, does your pain go away when you don't eat? The good news is that the surgery (pretty easy one at that) cleared it all up. That was 7 months ago and I have had no further problems. Did you vacation out of this country? It might be possible that you picked up a bug from water or food.
