Question:
Has anyone lost all their weight without suffering thru plateaus?

My rate varied but I only had one major plateau, see my profile its in there. Plateaus are normal.

I have never hit a plateau. I lose some every week. I want to lose 8 more pounds and that is well below what the BMI chart says is ideal for me - like about 12 pounds but I am short and small framed. I wish you luck. RNY 1-22-02 -92lbs

Hi! I think it is different for all of us. Sorry guys who just posted but us women are more prone to plateaus. It has something to do with our hormones and that 'time of the month'. Do I think you can do it without plateaus? Sure. But do I know you can have plateaus? Absolutely! It isn't easy, we didn't get this way overnight. I am going through one right now in which I actually have gained! I am working through it but it isn't easy. Don't beat yourself up like I do every time you slow down or plateau. Know it is your body's way of resetting its own 'rhythms'. Good luck!

I am six months post op down 104 pounds which is 4 pounds below goal for me. I have yet to hit one plateau. I have gone from a size 24 to a size 8. I do make sure to get in 64 ounces of water a day and always get in all of my protein which will speed up weight loss. I take Real Meals which has 60 grams of protein per serving.

I've never "suffered" thru a platue because I avoid the scale like the plague! So I wouldn't even know if I've had one. Scales are bad for my mental mind-set!

I too never suffered thru a plateau. But then again I was/am not one of those people who weighs religiously. Right after surgery I was very anxious about how much I was losing but only got weighed at the Dr.'s office. After the first 3 months I would weigh myself once in a while at home but not much. I used to get VERY depressed (pre-surgery) when I would weigh myself and not be where I wanted. This made me turn to food MORE. So Ive learned to just go by how my clothes fit and let the Dr.'s weigh me. At last check-up I was 123 lbs and at goal!!!!
