Question:
What do they do for the Upper GI?

When I had my upper GI, they had me drink this heavy liquid and they took pictures of my stomach as I was swallowing. Then the dr had me go to a room and turn side over side on a bed. Usually if you are not too big I guess they strap some to the bed in xray and turn you around, but I do not know that for sure.It was not as bad as I thought it would be. Good luck. I just had an upper GI last wednesday. Not bad at all.. I thought I had a partial stricture. They made me stand in the exray and drink barrium and some fizzy stuff and even a huge pill that I just knew would get stuck...anyway I watch as everything went tumbling down into my pouch. No problems. No way was it as bad as the leak test !! At least I was standing and didnt have a NG tube up my nose. Good luck! rny 1/27/04 350/309
