Question:
Severe acid reflux even from water

I am 7 days post op from a Lap Band procedure. I ended up back in the ER because I couldn't keep anything down. I had an upper GI and it showed a great deal of swelling so I am on clear liquids. Even if I drink water I can spit out almost a cup of stomach acid. I am barely staying hydrated because of the pain of drinking anything. Did anyone else experience this? I see you had UGI. Were you also scoped? The fact that water tastes bad combined with nausea......? Did they give you carafate and/or Prilosec or Prevacid (something in that family)? If you have a marginal ulcer, it will swell the opening nearly closed, but does need to be treated. For some of us, just a course of \"pills\" and it\'s all over fast. For others, it may take a series of tries, but even so, diagnosis is the first step.
