Question:
For those of you who had surgery with Dr. Baltasar in Spain or ...

For those who have traveled outside of the USA what preparations did you have to make? I'm thinking of using Dr. Baltasar. Besides the airfare and passport what else did you have to get? Also, was there a concern regarding blood clots from the long trip? Anything I haven't thought of???? Thanks in advance!!!    — Tonya S. (posted on April 15, 2002)

I had my surgery here in Mexico City: It was painless, easy and a blessing. The doctor is excellent and I am really happy.

Hi, you might want to try one of the DS yahoo groups. I am a (future) patient of Dr. Gregg Jossart and I believe there are a couple of people who could not get approval with Dr. J so they went to Dr. Baltasar and self-paid. Dr. Jossart's group is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DS_Jossart/ but it's more than just his patients, so feel free to join the group. There is also a main DS list which I don't konw the URL for, but maybe someone else does. You might also want to go to www.duodenalswitch.com and check out the patients, see who had Dr. B and email them. Good luck!
