Question:
If my hair is already thin transparent on top it wont all fall out will it..

My hair is already thin on top, has been for years. Will this make it all fall out? Will it come back? Thanks Jackie [email protected]    — jackie F. (posted on July 26, 2002)

I have the same problem, female pattern baldness. I will try and eat a TON of protein and I use rogaine 2 times a day in the hopes to strengthen the hair. If not, I figure, thin wiht wig was better than heavy with thin hair! Good luck cause I do know what you are going through. Deb

I had thin hair before surgery, propped up by a perm and lots of hair spray. Now at 6 months post-op, the hair loss has slowed but the top is very thin. You will not go bald, but a short hair style is in order until it decides to grow back. I've seen others that have written that when their hair does grow back it comes in thicker...one can only hope! But small price to pay for a 70 pound loss....

You're hair is probably thin now because you're suffering from hyperinsulimia or PCOS. Losing weight may cause it to temporarily (6-8 weeks) become very thin, but then it should thicken out considerably ... way thicker than it was before surgery. I speak from experience. I don't think you'll go completely bald, but you may want to wear a wig/scarf for a while.
