Question:
4 Months Post Op, Need Help With Protein

I had open rny on 3/20/03. I have lost 79 lbs, and I am happy with that. My problem is that I have not lost anything in almost 2 weeks. Could you please share with me what you are eating daily while on the protein train? Also, while on the train are you trying to stay in ketosis? Thanks for any info that you can pass along. I am only a month and a half out but I can tell you that the champion nutrition pur whey stack drink is wonderful and it is loaded with protein. I also stay in ketosis but I think that will change in time. I don't eat much of anything. I just love the chocolate shakes...

I'm three and half months out. I'm a lightweight - started at 235 and currently 175 (down 60 lbs. I am in a constant state of ketosis (I check with ketostix). I do a couple of protein shakes every day, and stick to deli meats and cheeses for the most part. I also eat a few almonds every day. I try to stay away from carbs as much as possible, and usually don't go over 30-40 grams per day. I exercise 5-6 days per week with at least 45 minutes of cardio and add weight training every other day. I know I have gained a lot of muscle mass, as a several years ago I was at this same weight but wore two sizes bigger! Good luck! Barb Open RNY 4/07/03 235/175/126-130
