Question:
Please tell me Im not finished!!!!!

I have not lost a pound in 3 months doing everything Im suppose to except dont drink enough water but surely Im not finished am I????    — Monica T. (posted on May 20, 2004)

Well then drink your water ya silly! But seriously, I have been plateauing too and had the same starting month as you. I need to exercise more. I only do about 3 hours a week and I know I need to do about 5 hours a week. I know I lose on the following: 1200 cals a day no matter what I eat. or 1500 cals a day of high protein low carb. + 80 or more oz of water and all my vitamins/supplements.

Water flushes the fat and other watse out. try to drink more. I have followed my surgeons plan and have loss 208lbs so far in 17 mos. I have 50 more lbs to go. I started slowing down around 15 mos. try to drink more water. hang in there

I don't think we are ever finished-- sure, the body may acclimate to the slight malabsorption of the proximal RNY, but it should continue to respond to low carbohydrate intake. I never experienced a plateau of longer than 3 days because I would drastically reduce my carbs (to about 15-20 per day) and increase my protein to nearly 80 grams per day. I would maintain this regimine for about 3 days and then gradually increase my carbs to about 40 grams a day. Others in my support group have followed this plan with comparable results. Good luck.

Get resting metabolic rate done to see if you are getting enough calories for your activity level.... up the protein, and of course, water, water, water!
