Question:
For those post-ops who had an epidural

did you have any back pain after it was removed and if so for how long? I'm considering the epidural since I have sleep apnea but have been told that sometimes you have back aches for months afterwards.    — Debbie M. (posted on May 5, 2000)

I had the DS surgery on 2/18 (open) and had an epidural. It is a strange feeling going in, hard to describe, kind of like "electricity" going though you. Not necessarily "painful" though. I could barely feel them remove it a few days later and I had no back pain from it. My pain was in the front! Feeling better now, down 45 lbs.
