Question:
Are there any military doctors that perform WLS Lap?

I am a military wife. My insurance is Tricare. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any military docs that perform the Gastric Bypass Lap? And if so where are they located? Also, does anyone know if there's a civilian Dr. that performs the Lap for the military patients that Tricare covers? Julia - I am a retired military wife...I believe that some military hospitals do this surgery. I was originally going to have it done 10 years ago at Balboa Naval Station (my ex was in the AF)....I am not sure which base hospitals offer it, just call...see your pcp and ask for a referral. Karan

Julia I had my lap done at Portsmouth Naval Hospital 11/22/2000 down 55lbs trcare covers wls at civilian hospitals if you qualify as with any insurance. start off with finding a Dr. in your area and tell them what insurance you have. They will usually take it from there. good luck. janis the va. girl
