Question:
Has any one had the Lap Band surgery?

I don't know anyone who has had the lap band, but I did see a story on it on NBC news, saying that while it is the less invasive, patients who have this surgery on average only lose 33% of thier excess weight. So if you have 100 lbs to lose, with this option you would probably only lose about 33lbs. doesn't really seem worth it to me.

I had Lap Band Feb 10 2003...i am 5 months post op and have lost 65 lbs so far....i have gone from 230 lbs to 165 lbs...i have been happy with my results and I believe everyone will have their own opinions about the different procedures....educate yourself and then choose the procedure that you feel is right for you...as far as the 30% weight lost with Lap Band ....I dont believe that....I am 35 lbs within my goal weight..and its only been 5 months...good luck
