Question:
Major Pains

I am 5 months post-op (surgery date 11/13/01)! BIG FAILURE...I am experiencing so many problems..starting weight was 17 lbs as of today (4/6/02) weigh 265...My suergon is no longer accepting my insurance so I have to find a new Dr. (no one wants to to touch me ) My tummy is very tender, I have horrible pains under my left breast and a stabbing pain under my left shoulder blade and I also vomit 3-4 times a week and everything I eat or drink hurts going down. I had my gallbladder removed in Feb. of 2001 so I cannot attribute pain to gallstones. My primary physician is sending me to some kind of specialist where they send a scope down your throat (very neverous) he thinks I may have developed an Ulcer around my pouch. My hair loss is excessive (I do the vitamins daily and the B12 shots once a month). Is anyone else experiencing these problems..???    — zappygirl1974 (posted on April 6, 2002)

Hi I read your profile and it seems like on 2/1/2002 you were very happy and upbeat. Now 2 months latter you are in a horrible state. Maybe you are depressed in in some kind of hormonal imbalance. In your profile you said that you could eat anything. Maybe your diet is throwing you into some kind of nutritional problems. Have your Dr look at your blood work and make sure that your levels are ok-----Good Luck

Don't be afraid of the scope down you throat. They put you into twilight sleep and it takes about 10 minutes and you won't even know it happened. I would suggest that you go back to liquids only for a while until they determine what is wrong, and make sure you drink extra protein drinks and take some liquid biotin for the hair loss. Maybe you have a small stricture or hernia or something...try not to stress out too much, as that will only make matters worse. Good luck.
