Yes, definitely possible. But since you are so close to goal, it's going to go slowly and you will have to work harder at it. Cut back on the carbs and up the exercise and you shouldn't have a problem. Good luck!

I pretty much stopped at a year out. Like someone pulled a switch. I did manage to lose another 20 lbs but never could get to a normal bmi. I wish I had tried harder the first six months instead of taking it for granted. (Hint to those of you who are new post ops)

I pretty much stopped at nine months when I was five pounds from goal. I have gained a few pounds since the holidays, but I am working to get that off. Next step, try to get insurance approval for a TT. Sapala Wood Micropouch 12/12/02 – 213/133/125.

I AM NOT ONE YEAR OUT, BUT I DON'T THINK YOU ARE FINISHED.FROM READING MANY PROFILES, PEOPLE CONTINUE TO LOSE UO TO 15 MONTHS OUT. YOUR LOSS WILL JUST BE SLOWER.

You're done if you want to be. We have malabsorption so we technically have the rest of our lives with the tool. The best window of opportunity is in the 1st 2 years post-op. And then with exercise we can lose more and more.

Carla, first congrats on the great weight loss at one year post0op. Good job and I bet you look amazing. Your not necessarily done, however, usually after the 1 year mark or as we get closer to goal, we have to help the weight loss along, its no longer just sit back for the ride. I have no idea what your eating (other than letting some carbs slip in), and what your exercise program is like, but it sounds like you may have to either cut some calories or up the heart pumping cardio to get the loss moving again. Keep in mind (I always tell post-ops this so if you have seen my shtick, I apologize!) that whatever goal weight you select, if too low, will be very difficult to maintain. The lower your weight/size, the less calories you can take in to maintain it. Choosing a reasonable goal (160 for 5'7 seems reasonable to me), will go a long way towards contributing to your long term success.

I too am 5'7" and am 13 months post op. I don't think I've lost anything in 6+ weeks now except the same darn few pounds! I would like to think we are not done...but, I'm starting to wonder myself. I know it takes more work to keep losing this late in the game and I'm just not sure I have it in me. I know I've let the carbs creep back in these days too, which can't help. I keep telling myself I should cut back to three 1/2 cup 100% protien meals for a few weeks and see if that helps...but, it's easier said than done! And even if I could manage to drop another 10-15 pounds, I'm not convinced that I could keep it off by eating 'normally'. I wish I had a better perspective for you...good luck!
