Question:
Does anyone know if Kaiser in Northern Cal does the DS?

I have decided I want the DS instead of the RNY and would like to know if anyone with Kaiser in Northern Cal has had this done.    — Amy M. (posted on September 13, 2001)

As far as I know, Kaiser only does the Roux n Y procedure. They just recently started even doing that Lap, too, and now one of the docs has stopped doing Lap and only does Open.

Go to duodenalswitch.com and you will be able to get all the latest, scientific, data about the DS. Also there is a listing of all the doctors and many patient comments. You should be able to find your answers there. Good luck. You might also want to check the database here at AMOS for insurers and type in the name of the company and check out what people have to say.

Hi! I just met two new friends who are pursuing WLS via Kaiser here in Oregon/SW Washington. Kaiser here only does the RNY, I'm not sure if that's only open or if it is available Lap. My friends call the DS (or DGB as it's now being called) The "Radical".. I had to ask them what they were talking about! Best of luck in your journey. ~Peace!
