Question:
stomach cramps

I am 4 weeks post op and have felt great until 3 days ago. I woke up in the night with horrible stomach cramps. I vomited for the 1st time that night earlier in the evening. I have continued to have these for 3 days now. Like charlie horse cramps. Any one else have this? I went to the ER- no explaination, and my Dr. is out of town.    — kellie H. I am 5 weeks post op and had a similar problem but could not vomit. I also was rushed to the ER and they found the opening from my stomach and intestine had gotten inflamed (maybe from something I ate) and was not letting food pass. I ended up having a barium swallow xray and that pushed everything through but now I get a dull ache once in a while until it heals. If you have any questions e-mail me and I can get more in detail ([email protected])

I too have these stomach cramps, I have been awakened out of a deep sleep doubleing over in pain. It is in my upper stomach, and I would describe it to be what I would think babies who have colic seem to act. As long as I would keep a blanket rapped tightly around me with a pillow in my chest to double over, I could tolorate the pain, but if I released the pressure that I was applying, I would hurt. About 4 nights, this happened, all around 2:00- 2:30 in the morning. I would take a pain pill, and cry till it passed. But I have started having these same type of cramps during the day. I have now found that it I eat about 4 saltine crackers, the pain will go away. I am not a doctor, but I found this helps me, and I would have done almost anything for this pain to go away. Melissa
