Question:
Barbara Hensen is doing fine!
I know these are customarily posted on the msg board, but that is not where she hangs out, only Q&A. She was doing very well, and pretty darned perky for a girl on drugs! She will explain in full, but my understanding was that she was revised to a much longer common channel, rather than reversed completely. — vitalady (posted on August 21, 2002)

AMOS MODERATOR NOTE!I approved this message although it belongs on the MB
as a special exception to the rules, since Barb is such a important person
around here, and doesnt post to the MB. She is one of the few long term
post ops with troubles who offers advice but doesnt bash the surgery. I
appeciate the other mods cooperation in leaving this subject here. I think
we will all be intersted to find out if barbs original surgeon made the
bypass way too long. At least that would explain her troubles...

I had to have a revision of sorts done at a month post op and they've let
me hang around too! LOL (((hugs))) Barbara, although your story scared me,
I admire you for your dignity and strength through some, obviously, very
trying times!

Hi all. Just wanted to thank you all for your kind words and thoughts and
well wishes. A big thank you to Michelle for calling right away and
checking on me then posting. Although I told her it was a revision, I
found out the next day (when I was coherant) that I had a total reversal
which is what I expected all along. Common channel was 75 which is normal
but there was alot of atrophy and kinks in the intestines which had to be
taken care of. I hope you are all well and happy and again I thank you.
