I don't know for sure... but personally I quit worring at a month out. Just keep moving alot. That should be the best thing you could do.

Better ask your surgeon/doc. On 8/29/02 I ended up in the emergency room with multiple pulmonary embolisms in my lungs and my surgery was 7/5/02. Now, 5 days prior to 8/29 I had a plane flight that was in excess of 4 hours. Docs said I had at least 3 risk factors (overweight still, long flight, recent surgery). Luckily I got to the ER and had really no problems. I'm on blood thinners for 3 months and in Dec will have a lung scan to verify my lungs are clear. But, I had NO symptoms except for extreme shortness of breath. No chest pain, no breathing problems until clots were already in my lungs, no pain in legs or any other part of my body.
