Question:
Plateau

I have had several plateau since my procedure on July 15, 2002. I am 7 months and lost 55lbs. This is really a diffucult problem. My first plateau was 3 months post op, and lasted for over 7 weeks. During that time I had started to excerise, 6 to 7 days per week and my calories were around 800 to 900. Considering I was burning 200 to 300 every day in the gym it was even lower. Even through it sounds crazy, I need to increase mhy food/calorie intake. I read in Bob Greene's book, (OPrah trainer) about metbolism can be slowed by too little food, because the body thinks it is starving. My loss picked up again when I increase my food intake by about 200 calories per day. THIS MAY NOT BE FOR EVERYONE. I am on another plateau again and it is hard to determine what is the right amount of food, considering my excerise routine. I take in enough liquids. I only have about 50lbs to go. ANY suggestions? I'm only 3 months post op. However when I have a few days when my weight doesn't move I switch to ALL protein. I usually drop a pound a day for up to 4 days. It really doesn't even matter how many calories or fat grams I consume, as long as it's NO carbs, and all protein. Best of luck!

Since upping the calories worked for you last time, how bout trying it again? Lowering carbs and upping the protein also helps. Great exercise regiment, 6-7 days a week, you go girl!
