Question:
Bc/Bs of AL - I know they are paying for some but how?

I had my consultation with the plastic surgeon today. I've had such a peace about the whole thing. Just like with the bypass surgery. So, when his office manager told me she wouldn't even submit the abdominoplasty OR the arms to the insurance you can imagine my complete despair. The total cost will be almost $14,000. There is NO WAY I can do that. Is there any one out there who has Bc/BS of Alabama that got any of it paid for? I live in Montgomery, if you know of a good plastic surgeon who would be willing to help me with insurance issues tell me. Please help! Thanks !    — Tiffany S. (posted on April 15, 2003)

Hi Tiffany, My sister had her TT done with Dr. Eich in Birmingham. I also had a consultation with him and they submitted and recieved approval for both of us. She has Federal BC/BS and I have BC/BS POS. His work on my sister was fantastic! His number is 205-838-6595. Best of Luck!

Tiffany, If you have an apron(belly) that is hanging down below your pubic area I know for a fact it is reconstructive surgery & BCBS will pay for it & also your breast. As far as the asst in the office you went I am just outranged and applaud that they would not fight for you. Dr. Eich is the guy for you. He is excellent. I am due to go see him in a few months. Dr. Miles in Birmingham did my surgery last August and I have lost 117 lbs. I am 5'1 and started at 290 lbs. DO not give up honey. I am forwarding this to Rona Scott she is our Bari-Godmother for our support group. She also has had the surgery and the tummy tuck. Which is really called a panni.......
