Question:
Any support groups in north florida?

Hello, I live in Live Oak which is in North Florida and would love to go to a support group every now and then. Do any of you know of any groups in Gainesville, Lake City, Tallahassee, or anywhere else close to Live Oak? Thanks!    — Tammy M. (posted on April 29, 2003)

I know there is a large support group in Tallassee (I live in Lake City.) that I went to for a couple of months. It was great but the ride was a little long. A lady in Lake City started a group last month. The meetings will be the 1st Tuesday of every month at the Wesley Methodist Church. If you need more info please email me. Hope this helps. My surgery was 2/19/03.

I know that Dr. Thoburn has a support group meeting in Gainesville. I am sure any WLS patients would be welcome. You could call his office and find out. There are also several online groups that offer support. I am in 2 support groups in Jacksonville. Email me and I will let you know how to get in touch with the support groups.

I live in Jacksonville and Dr. Sooriash has a support meeting at Memorial hospital the third Wed. of every month. I am sure Dr. Yasrebi also has one.
