Question:
I filled out the forms for a consultation and due to my MS i was denied.

My neurologist is the one who refered me, and the surgeon said with my MS he didnt want to put me under anasthetic. I have had a tubaligation, a hernia surgery, a upper GI, and 2 other surgeries and hav had no problem. If my neuroligist has no problem I cant figure out why the other dotor did.    — Tracie C. Maybe it is the amount of time that you would be put under. Keep looking, there is a surgeon in Chgo that does sometype of lap band with a robot that only takes a 1/2 supposedly.

Just find a surgeon who will work with and respect your neurologist's opinion. I'm sure there is some way to deal with this. Chris

Tracie, I have MS and my surgeon was not at all concerned. He has done other MS patients as well. If you put "multiple sclerosis" in the search box here, you will get several other WLS-MS patients posts. If you are RRMS and stable, I think there should not be a problem, just find a different surgeon! Good luck...Lori
