Question:
I found a lump on my thigh will this help me to get plastic surgery?

I found the lump on my upper right thigh my regular doctor says it looks like a lipoma. Where the fat has accumulated and it is attached to a muscle. Do you post op's think that this would help me even more with geting insurance to pay for pastic surgery especially on my tummy and thighs. I had her document it for insurance company and document the rash under my panni area also. But I also have extra skin on my arms do you think they would pay for that too or will that part have to come out of my own pocket.    — sheri B. (posted on May 10, 2003)

I agree, this is a minor office procedure - nothing you will need to have in the hospital. Some docs don't even take them out. If you did, for some reason, need to have an excision done in the hospital, it would still be under local with IV sedation at max, and unless you had a HUGE MOMMA of a lipoma, it would never qualify for reconstruction, and certainly not to cover the kind of reconstruction you're looking for. Sorry.
