I am 7 months out, so I prob eat more than I did then, but not much more. a
usual day looks like this, breakfast, 1 scrambled egg with cheese on top
and 1/2 piece of toast. snack 1/2 a protein bar or 1/2 a piece of fruit or
a smoothie. lunch 4 or 5 shrimp depending on the size or 1/2 a chicken
breast on about 1 cup of salad with dressing(yes the real stuff, fat and
all) after noon snack similar to am snack. dinner is aprox 3 oz meat,
fish, or chicken with a couple tbs. of potato or pasta, and a vegetable,
such as a spear of asparagus or a similar amount of something else. I also
have an after dinner snack. some other snacks I have would be a smoothie
made of frozen fruit, ice cubes, water and a scoop of protein powder
blended til smooth. cucmbers or other veggies cut up with ranch dip. or
sugar free jello with cool whip. I am trying to stay away from a lot of
artificial sweeteners as I suspect they are giving me gas. I also find that
items such as sugar free cookies make me more hungry and fuel cravings so I
am avoiding them now. I have lost 90 # , and healthier than ever, My
cholesterol is down from 240 to 133. my protein goal is adequate protein
as calculated by the dietician, 56 gms a day for my height, 5 feet. I drink
water as much as possible.

I am about 4 1/2 months post-op, and eat the same as I did at 3 1/2 months.
I can hardly eat anything in the mornings, so for breakfast, I can usually
just eat about 2 PB and Cheese crackers, or 3 deli slices of ham. For
lunch, I can eat one of those little food buckets of ravioli....or 1 taco
from taco bell or a half of a mexican pizza with no meat from taco bell. I
can definately eat more in the evenings (lucky me, right?)...For dinner I
could finish almost a full hotdog with no bread or anything and 2 hot wings
with a couple pretzels...or 1 chicken leg and about 4 greenbeans and a
tablespoon of mashed potatos and gravy. I try not to have too many snacks
but usually fail at that, so I will have throughout the entire day, the
rest of my package of PB and cheese crackers from breakfast and a couple
suger free cookies...If I have nuts or popcorn, forget it, I have blown the
day...I feel like I can eat a ton of popcorn....I could finish 1/3 of the
bag or more to be honest, if I really wanted too. So I try to stay away
from that, it's too scary! Good luck to you!

I will be 15 weeks out tomorrow (surgery 1/31), and am now averaging about
500-600 calories a day. I drink two protein drinks which account for
220-270 of the calories. I eat three, 1/4 to 1/3 cup, meals - consisting
mostly of protein. I occasionaly eat a grain cereal (quinoa &
amaranth), salad, or green vegetable instead of the protein, in which case
I can eat more like 1/2 - 1 cup. I sometimes add a third protein drink or
a snack in the evening depending on how much activity I have had during the
day. I am never hungry, and find that some days I am 'full' most of the
day just drinking water (80-100 oz), and don't really want to eat...but
force myself to anyway.

Well, I'm also about 7 mos out, so I'm a bit farther than you. But here's
what I'm planning to eat today: 1/2 of a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast,
most of a Taco Bell chicken burrito for lunch, for supper, 1 brat (it's
sunny here today, so we're grilling out)& 5 or 6 baby carrots, my
evening snack will be a cup of raw strawberries with no sugar. Now, when I
was 3 months out, I could eat about the same foods, just not quite as much
of them (for example, I wouldn't have been able to eat a whole brat, but
about 3/4 of it). Does this help?
