Yes, it could be your period and yes, you could be at a plateau already. It's very common this early out, though the plateaus at this point are usually very short. Stick to your surgeon's rules and just wait it out. Your body is losing weight so quickly and just needs time to catch up.

yeah it sure can, remember plateaus are part of the program, we just have to get use to them. Don't have to like them, but we have to deal with them. I've had so many I have loss count. I'm 15 months and have loss 195 lbs. don't focus on it, just focus on what you have to do to loss the wt. remember eating potatoes, rice, bread, sweets and some veggies will slow down your wt loss or bring on a plateau. In my beginning wl journey I didn't touch nothing like it. I focused on my proteins and I loss rather fast doing so. Good luck. hang in there

Don't get discouraged. Don't forget that before you had surgery your body would re-act to your monthly cycle. It still is going to do that, however as you are losing weight your hormones could be changing too. Getting back into more balance. I am not a doctor, just trying to use logic. You are doing GREAT! Keep up the good work. DeeAnn

Janice: Don't forget that a TRUE plateau is three to four months with NO weight loss and NO loss of inches. Everyone "stalls out" in the early weeks and months, everyone freaks out about it and it's nothing to worry about. As long as you're following your nutritional plan and doing what your surgeon requests of you as far as aftercare goes, I think you'll be fine. I wish you the best, and try to relax. Everyone thinks they'll be the ONE person this doesn't work for but you'll succeed and do great!! God bless!! Amy Open RNY 6/18/2003 390-218-175
