Question:
Does anyone have stomach discomfort when they drink water?

I'm on vacation this week. I did not go anywhere special. I've decided to stay home and regroup concerning my diet, exercise and most of all, rest. I'm trying to drink more water but I'm having discomfort like a dull ache when I start drinking the water. Also, I've found out that I can drink about 16 oz within a ten minute period. Is this too much too fast?    — Jan M. (posted on April 12, 2001)

My pouch is sometime very sensitive to hot or cold. Usually, very cold drinks make my stomach ache. Hot drinks usually feel great. I have to have ice in my drinks but am using a lot less than I used to.

I can't drink water either. I just had my three week check up and my doctor thinks I'm nuts. I can drink milk, even iced tea but water bothers me. I don't have any answers for you but at least know you aren't alone!

Hi, 16 oz seems like a lot in 10 mins..but depending onhow far out it could be feasable. But, if you are drinking it too fast it could cause discomfort. I have actually thrown up from drinking water too fast. In fact its the only thing that has ever caused me to throw up. I also had pain when drinking water. Try expirementing w/different temps and add lemon. You can try diluted crystal light and caffiene free ice tea works also. I am 11 weeks now and no more problems with water, so it does get better. Best of luck to you :)
