Question:
What exactly is a saiety disorder?

How can one tell whether they have a saiety disorder or an obsessive-compulsive disorder? I understand that the saiety disorder is physical and not psychological, so is there a bloodtest or something to test for it? Is there any treatment for it? And if someone has it, how would it effect the outcome of WLS?    — lalasmommy (posted on June 29, 2001)

My understanding is that these disorders go hand in hand. People who compulsively overeat usually are able to do so because their body does not tell them when it is satified whith what's been eaten(someone please correct me if I'm wrong). I am 6 months post-op and can tell you that for the first time in my life, I eat when I'm hungry and don't eat when I'm not - this surgery has been a true blessing.
