Question:
I need some Ideas on making a protein drink that does not have milk

I currently use Designer Whey from GNC and I mix it with skim milk. I love the taste. However I am plateaued in the worse way. I have lost 160 lbs form 379 before surgery and I still have another 50 or so to go. I have not lost in the last 6 months. I have been told by others that I need to cut the carbs and do more protein. Skim milk has 12 gm carbs per serving. I tried my powder in water and coffee and it is gross. I need some recipes and ideas for mixing my choco powder that I can tolerate in taste. Hi, I use Champion Pure Whey Stack (Chocolate or Vanilla). Mix with water and then use Sugar Free syrups (like the kinds they use in italian sodas and expressos). I love Chai Tea so I will use the Vanilla Protien with the SF Chai syrup. Plus they now have this new protien calle "Nectar" by Syntrax. It comes in 3 flavors: Apple, Berry and Carribean Cooler. I like the Cooler one. Mix it with water, crushed ice and SF strawberry syrup. Using the SF syrups really helps in changing the tastes. Here is a website for you to check out. www.wlssuccess.com Good luck.

I only add ice water to my Designer Whey and Isopure. They usually taste fine without the milk.

I too use Designer Whey and converted from using skim milk to half & half. The way I figured out it tastes best to me is this...6 oz water (cold), 2 oz half & half, 1 tsp. Splenda, and 2 scoops of Designer Whey. Hope this helps.

Go to www.vitalady.com and order some samples. All are mixed in water.

I loved the samples at Vidalady & I love RealMeals too! Both are mixed with water. At Vidalady, there is more of a variety as Real Meals comes in Vanilla or Chocolate only. Good Luck! Karen

Here's my favorite recipe that works well with both choclate and vanillia. Use required amount of COLD water and protein mix; add 1/8 tsp. instant coffee (I use decaf); 1/8 tsp. cinnamion; 1/8 tsp. vanillia extract; 1-2 Splendas. You can also add a couple ice cubes and blend in blender. Hope you enjoy!

How about oat milk, rice milk, soy milk, cashew milk? I don't think soy is that great, but the oat milk is actually not bad. I made some oat chocolate milk for my son (who didn't know it was oat milk) and thought it was the best choc. milk he ever had - rich and creamy. I have no idea the sugar content, but its worth looking into.

I am a Champion Nutrition Pure Whey Stack (chocolate) fan also. I also liked the Proscore 100 chocolate that I sampled. I prepare my Whey Stack with refrigerated water and also add a handful of ice cubes (put this in my Tupperware shaker...shake the water & powder first, add ice, shake again). Sometimes when I have time and want more "oomph" I use the blender and instead of ice cubes I use frozen whole strawberries...yummy chocolate covered berry flavor, milkshake consistency without the milk! My next adventure is to order some of Vitalady's sugar free syrups to experiment with. Have you visited the Yahoo! Group for Protein Shake Addicts & Pervs? They have a file section with tons of recipe ideas. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG-Protein/

For my Chocolate Real Meals shakes I mix with Sugar Free Tang or Sugar free Strawberry pop (shake out fizz). And with my Vanilla ones, I mix with any flavor of juice. Another juice I like is Diet V-8 Splash. (Don't uhhg about orange and chocolate together, it really is good) And now that I can buy Tupperware at Target, I went and bought a couple of the 2 cup shakers and keep my juice in them and bring to work, add powder, shake and you're good to go!! It took my quite a while to find a shake that sat well with me, keep buying samples until you find the one or two that work! Good luck! You are doing fabulous!!!

I use a couple of favorites protein drinks (chocolate) from Vitalady, they are great. Some times to thicken it up I will use only 1/2 the protein powder (making it about 15 grams protein), and 1/2 cup of egg substitute (with about 12 grams protein). It has a creamy texture for a change.
