Question:
What is the expected length of hospital stay after a lap RNY?

I had surgery on a Friday morning and was home by Sunday afternoon.

I also was a Friday AM and went home Sunday night - but he normally keeps
his patients until Monday morning.

I had my surgery on Tuesday at 11:30 and was released on Thursday morning;
my co-worker just had her surgery on Monday at 8:00 am and was released on
Tuesday evening. I'm jealous! LOL!

Hello! Well, I am 10 day's out since surgery and I had surgery on a Tuesday
and went home on Friday. I probably could have gone home on Thursday, but I
ended up having to have a blood transfusion so stayed until Friday. If you
have your gallbladder taken out also, probably plan on 3 days. Everyone is
different and my hospital let me make the choice if I was ready to go home

Hello. I went in the hospital on 8/25/03 and was released on 8/28/03. I
was supposed to be released on 8/27/03 but I had a bad case of
nausea/vomiting as I was preparing to leave, so the doctor felt I should
stay one additional day.

<font color="007000" face="tahoma">I was in the
hospital for 3 and 1/2 days. I probably could have gone home after 2 and
1/2 if it hadn't been for a dumb nurse who sent me down to ICU the night of
surgery when it wasn't needed (which caused everything to be held up for a
day - my walking, eating, tube removals..)

I had surgery at 11:00 a.m. on a Tuesday, and was released home on Thursday
afternoon. I had no problems or complications, was walking and drinking
fluids, and felt pretty good, considering. I did just fine at home after
that.

I had surgery on Tuesday late morning and went home Thursday afternoon. My
DH had surgery on Wednesday and went home on Thursday (and he was ready!)
They let him go home that fast because I had had the surgery and I am also
a nurse.

My stay was 2 days. My doctor said the average was 3 days for most people.

My surgeon said two plan on two days, with a possible third day depending
on healing, hydration, etc. 235 Open RNY 9-25-03 Waa-HOO!

I had my surgery on a Thursday afternoon and was released on Friday. Dr.
told me I would feel worse on the 3rd day and great on the 4th. He was
right! Lap RNY 8-28-92 down 116lbs.

In Monday, out Thursday, but I could have gone on Wed if it was up to me!
