Question:
Now at 4 weeks post op, why do I feel worst?

Now at 4 weeks post op, I have been feeling worst after I eat or drink than I did two weeks ago. I even experienced indigestion all night last night and could not sleep. I feel sick to my stomach almost all the time. I am following doctor's orders and eating soft foods yet, but everything seems to bother me. I am now eating some better protein foods that he recommended and boullion seems to not bother me, but everything else does. Any suggestions or has anyone had this problem? I am back to work, so I am not walking as much, could that be part of the problem? — wilhemina P. (posted on November 12, 2003)

Hi, I just wanted to let you know you're not alone. I had the same thing happen, and my problem turned out to be allergies, and then my stoma narrowed, so I had to be scoped and dilated, and then I found out that I got an ulcer from the scope and dilation. It's been a loooong recovery for me! I'm 12 weeks out now, and since I've lost 53 pounds, my surgeon and I think that my blood pressure is dipping too low, so now I'm dealing with that, too. I know, sucks to be me, huh??? LOL!
If I were you, I would contact my surgeon, because it could be a problem with your stoma narrowing and causing nausea, or you could have an ulcer. There are any number of things that could be happening. They can also give you meds for the nausea.

I hope this helps!

The same thing happened to me. It ended up being the mega dose of iron that my doctor ordered for me. Could this be the problem? Just a thought....Good luck.
