Question:
I just wanted to share this great new product with everyone...

Someone recently recommended the new Total Protein cereal to me and I have to recommend it to all of you after trying it out. The cereal is made by General Mills, and it is just another version of the Total cereal that they've had out for years. It is called Total Protein. In one 3/4 cup serving, the cereal has 120 calories, 3.5 g fat, 11 g total carbs (3 g fiber, 2 g sugar, 6 g other) and 13 g protein. This cereal tastes great and has become a wonderful snack for me and a great way to get in my protein. I hate the taste and texture of protein shakes and bars, so this has become perfect. I've never been much of a cereal-in-milk-for-breakfast-type person, so I eat dry cereal for snacks throughout the day. It is made up of big, crunchy flakes that have a sweet glaze to them. This cereal satisfies all of my cravings... something crunchy, something sweet and something to fill me up. Sure beats those chips I've been eating! Also, it is packed with vitamins - 100% RDA of vitamin C, Iron, vitamin E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, and Zinc. It also provides 10% RDA of Vitamin A, Calcium and Vitamin D. Okay, I'll quit rambling now. I am just so excited about my new favorite snack and wanted to share it with all of you. Try it, and let me know what you all think! Happy Spring! Hugs, Kristy (lap RNY 9/18/03 - 332/219/168 - 113 pounds lost - 51 pounds to goal)    — kristynush (posted on April 8, 2004)

I second that! I eat it as cereal and as a dry snack, very tasty, not your usual sticks and twigs taste of something good for you. I found it on sale this week and bought three boxes.

I tried it dry out of the box at a friend's house and was impressed. I am waiting for it to go on sale so I can pick some up. It kind of reminds me of the Atkins Morning Start cereal, except better. I have a feeling it will be better as a dry snack, as I didn't like the Atkins w/ milk and this had the same texture. I'm willing to give it a shot though.

I Love the Total protein cereal. A small bowl with a little splenda and skim milk. I was missing my cereal fix, lol. And this is satisfying it. Plus a little more fiber goes a long way. :-) LapRNY 5/15/03 - down 119lbs
