Carny (and everyone else): This is a great point. I kinda forget that PAA
may not be known to many "newbies." PAA was a venture I launched
(in
conjunction with the American Society For Bariatric Surgery's Public
Education Committee, to call media attention all across the country to the
plight of those of us trying to access obesity surgery - the problems we
have
with employers buying insurance which excludes coverage - the problems of
insurers excluding coverage or unreasonably limiting access. It was first
"launched " in San Diego in June and has been travelling across
the country
to support groups all over as a way of generating media focus and attention
on the problem. So far it seems to be a terrific success in getting
attention....it is our version of the "Aids Quilt." That's it in
a nutshell
