Question:
Anyone 258lbs., 5'6

I want to compare myself to someone with my stats. I am 5'6" female whose had a complete hysterectomy. I carry my weight in my abdomen..the worst for heart disease... I have sort of an athletic build....questioin? where am I going to end up after surgery? Easy, difficult, quick loss, slow, weight distribution even, or am I going to have skinny legs and still a belly? thanks for sharing.    — Elizabeth P. (posted on February 4, 2002)

I was 276 when I had the surgery on June 29,2001 I have lost 97 lbs to date. I have gone from a size 20/22 to 12/10. I also have thin legs and carry my weight in my stomach. I have lost everywhere but my stomach and upper arms are flabby i am working on it but without surgery my stomach will never be flat. I had a C-section almost 15 years ago straight up the middle, so without a tummy tuck my stomach will never be totally flat otherwise I look and feel great.

I started at 245, 250 by surgeons scale. I am 5'6" and definitely an apple. I wonder the same thing...am I going to look like I'm still on toothpicks when I reach goal? I carried a lot in my neck, I have seen those that are 400+ with my beginning size neck(18) and waist measurements(48). But it has been the first place that I have lost, yippeee. I am 3 months out, have lost 51 lbs., 12 inches from waist, 3 from neck. I do update my weight-loss on my profile but not measurements. When you start losing if you want to compare to mine, you are more than welcome, email me. I know that we're not supposed to compare, but it is fun to have something to go by. I lost 30 lbs. in the first month, 10 lbs. for each subsequent month. (Slowed already) but I am thrilled to be only 3 months out and already halfway to goal!! Enjoy your journey and I hope you find an apple at goal!!

Hi Elizabeth I started around 5'5 -5'6 and 250lbs size 24 and now 12 weeks laterI am down to 173 lbs size 16 clothes. I am also apple shaped. Although I see great loss in the stomach area, I definately have not lost there like I have everywhere else. My legs are where it seems I notice the most and my face, but hey I don't care where I lost at least I've lost:) I will e-mail you some pics of before and after so you can see. Good Luck!
