Question:
Why did my weight loss stop after 5 months post-op

I'm 15 months post-op and lost 90 lbs. the first 5 months and none since then. I need to lose 50 more. What's wrong with me?    — Shelley P. (posted on July 18, 2002)

Hi Shelly! Came across your question and even though I don't have much to say, just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you. Have you talked to your doctor at all? I've known people in my support group to hit very long plateaus where the weight is not moving but they are losing inches. Are you measuring at all? My surgeon too really recommends some exercise to keep things going too. I hope this helps, take care!

Hi! I am almost 24 mos. post op- but still at 12-15 mos post op I had only lost 90lbs. (and none since) and I still could lose about 40-50 more.... same boat. I feel it is my lack of devotion to routine exercise- what's your program?

Thanks for the reply Karen. I take my protien, ride a bike, and try, try, try to drink plenty of water, but I eat whatever I want. At this point I can hold about 6 oz. of food but Dr. says that's normal. By the way, I had an open RNY. Would love to take Xenical but I'm afraid to.
