Question:
Is it possible to lose 25 pounds in 2 months?

Hi all I'm 25 pounds fron goal, and 'm getting married Sept 20th. I would really love to lose the last 25 but I have been stuck on a nasty platue (sp) for about 8 weeks now. I have only lost about 7 pounds. does anybody have a suggestions, or is it just not possible. I'm 8 months out down 92 pounds!!!! I was a lightweight to start. Thanks all!!!!    — Amy M. Amy, it's definately possible, but as we get further and further out, the weight loss does slow down, especially when you're a lightweight like you and I am! You might have to be a little sricter, like eat more protein, exercise 4/5 days a week instead of 3 and/or cut out any junk (if you were eating any) I definately don't think you're done losing though. I'm 14 months post-op and think I am finally done losing, and I've surpassed my goal. And even if you don't lose all the weight you want, you may still be the size you want. You'll often lose more inches in the end as well, without losing much or any weight at all! Congrats on your wedding- you will look beautiful whether you lose more or not! :-)

If you have lost 7 pounds then you are not on a plateau. I am sorry to be harsh but a plateau is zero weight lost for an extended period of time. A pound a week at your stage is not bad at all. If you want to lose faster then cut out the carbs, up the protein and chug the water. Also get 30 minutes at least of exercise EVERY day. Good Luck and congrats on your great loss so far. :)

I sincerely doubt that you can lose that much weight in 2 months. The other poster is correct, you are not on a plateau if you are still losing, even slowly. Its normal for the weight loss to slow down at this stage, and though it will continue, not as rapidly as you'd like-think more a pound a week, if that. You've done a great job so far, and think how nice you will look on your wedding day. Congrats.

You might try a protein feast. Pop over to the protein list & see how it's done. I'm kinda skeptical if you can drop THAT much, but what if you lost 12 or 18 or something? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG-Protein/
