Question:
Sinus Headaches

Has anyone taken over the counter or prescribed medication for sinus headaches before surgery? If so, were there any complications because of it?    — jimnetta N. (posted on October 16, 2003)

I was able to take tylenol products pre-op and continue to take them post-op without any problems. As always though, it's best to ask your surgeon before taking anything if you're in doubt.

I took tyleno sinus daily before surgery. I stopped 3 days before surgery for my own self. I couldn't take them after surgery. Anything with a decongestive in it will shrink the blood vessels slowing down the healing process. I took benedryl for 6 months after surgery whenever a sinus headache would hit. Now I can tyleno sinus if I want. I take them but not to often.
