Question:
Has anyone had lap-band surgery with Dr. Irgau, located in Wilmington/Newark, DE.

I recently found his name on the lap-band official website. I know he has performed gastric by-pass, but none of the Dr. comments on this website give much information about him and lap-band isn't mentioned at all. I'd really appreciate any feedback,    — Susan D. (posted on March 5, 2003)

If you want an excellent surgeon and an excellent hospital and an excellent aftercare/support group system, go to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and see Dr. Noel Williams. His specialty is the lap RNY, but he is doing the lap-band's now as well. I had my surgery with his associate (Dr. Steven Raper), but my wife is scheduled for surgery on May 6 with Dr. Williams. You are close enough to avail yourself of one of the best hospitals and best surgeons in the country - don't miss that chance...JR (open RNY 07/17 -157 lbs)

If you find the website for the makers of the Lap Band they have a tool you can use. You tell them where you live and they will send you a list of doctors in you area that do Lap Band surgery, I believe it's Inamed.My surgeon is trained to do Lap Band, but my insurance refuses to pay for that procedure. They still consider it investigational. But I got on that website and they responded in a day or two. They give you the address, phone numbers, and how many miles the doctors are located from you.
