Is there a guideline for upper limits on weight to qualify for LAP surgery.

Some doctors impose weight limits, other doctors will attempt lap and convert to an open if necessary.

My understanding after discussing with my surgeon is that it is not a weight requirement limitation as much as how big is your abdomen and can the instruments reach where they need to laproscopically. If you carry allot of weight around the area of the abdomen, that would be more concerning to the surgeon than if you carry extra weight over all etc.
