Question:
Had my enoscopy done on Monday

Have been feeling very nauseas after eating. I had to have my stoma stretched and also a nogile removed from my pouch. has anyone had a nogile ? has anyone felt nauseas after endoscopy? Please help!    — Teresa T. (posted on September 17, 2003)

You can feel nauseated after an endoscopy.I've had four and I've had nausea and vomiting after every one.There are several reasons why....first of all they have to pump air in there with the camera so they can get a better view and that can irritate the stomach.When they have to dilate the stomach there is almost always some amount of bleeding which can make you feel sick to your stomach.Also just the act of the dilation and having the equipment in your tummy can upset it.The nausea usually goes away in a day or two but the stomach outlet can stay swollen from the dilation for a week or two.
