insurance

I have medicare and tricare prime and I am wondering will they cover the tummy and breast being fixed after you lose the weight I live in kentucky. If anyone knows please tell me.    — poppink (posted on October 13, 2004)

Hello Alice, I noticed that you are in KY and you have Tricare Prime... are you military? If so, I am at Ft. Campbell, KY and we have a local online support group. You might want to ask there, I know there is a few ladies in the area who have had their TT either here at BACH or at local doctors and have had Tricare pay for it. HTH!

I am on Medicare, and I was wondering that too! Someone told me yesterday that their friend's insurance paid for their tummy tuck because it was causing a rash they couldn't cure, but I'm really not sure about Medicare. Hey, if you find out, let me know! You may want to call Medicare and ask them what their policy is. I believe that they will cover anything that the doc says is medically necessary...Their # is 1-800-Medicare, I'm not sure who you would ask, I know that in Idaho it would be Gayle Grey....Good luck!

Tricare Prime will often cover it, but it depends largely on the resources available in your area and you have to meet the requirements for it to be considered "medically neccessary." You can read more specifics about it on their website. I'm hoping to have mine done too. Good luck!
