Question:
would like to know if any other post ops have noticed changes

I have been treated for adhd for the past year(almost). i started on ritalin, and now take adderall, but have notice that it does not last long enough(2-3 hours per 15 mg twice a day), and wondered if anyone else here has had the same experience.    — [Anonymous] (posted on October 6, 2001)

I have 3 ADHD kids being monitored by a psychiatrist. Their meds are THREE times a day. Adderall normally wears off within 3 1/2 to 4 hours. If you're only taking twice a day, your adderal meds are definitely wearing out before your next dose.

I HAVE TAKEN DEXIDRINE FOR MY ADD MY 2 CHILDREN ARE ALSO ADD THEY TAKE CONCERTA AND RITILIN. DEXEDRINE WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT WORKED FOR ME AND IT IS A SUSTAINED RELEASE AS ARE MY CHILDRENS MEDS.I QUIT TAKING MY MEDS. ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO AND HAVE GAINED 75 POUNDS MY METABOLISM IS COMPLETLY SHOT BECAUSE OF THESE TYPE MEDS. NO DOCTOR HAS AN ANSWER FOR ME .I WORRY THAT MY CHILDREN WILL BE AFFECTED THE SAME WAY I WAS BY LONG TERM USE. BUT MY CHILDREN ARE JUST TO HARD TO DEAL WITH WITHOUT BEING MEDICATED. I WISH THERE WAS A SIMPLER WAY . IF YOUR CHILDREN AND YOURSELF ARE NOT ON SUSTAINED RELEASE YOU MAY WANT TO GIVE IT A TRY BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT NOT TAKE IT IT SERIOUSLY MESSES YOUR METABOLISM UP.
