Question:
Just wondering how long plateaus usually last?

I am just wondering about the duration of plateaus. I am two months post op, and have lost almost 40 pounds and more than twenty inches, but a majority of that (pounds wise) was in the first four weeks. Between then and this week (8 weeks this week) I have lost 4 more pounds, and I am at a loss as to why it has been such a small loss so early out. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely grateful that I have lost any at all...but I am frustrated beyond belief because I am losing slowly this past month. I am asking the typical plateau question of myself also..."Is this all I am going to be able to lose?" I average 75 grams of protein daily, try to keep my carbs to a minimum, and get a ton and a half of water, and exercise 30-60 minutes daily. I am so confused, and trying to stay optimistic, but losing hope quickly. I have heard so much about this "honeymoon phase" that so many people lose the weight fast and furious during the first six months or so...I'm just scared that I have lost all I am going to lose. I have spent so many years not losing from eating the wrong things, now I am not losing when I am eating all the right things, drinking water, and exercising. Any thoughts would be most appreciated. :) Thank you!! :)    — kimmer_742001 (posted on March 23, 2002)
