Question:
I just started doing protein dirnks now what???

I just started to do the protein drinks in the blender with 35 grams per drink. I've never done them before I've tried to get everythink I needed from my food intake. I've been at the same weight for the past 3 months. I drink my water, don't eat alot of fat and walk. So what can I expect from these drinks getting all this protein in to me??? I'm down 85 pounds and just had my 1 year annv. Thakyou you for the help terri    — Terri H. (posted on July 8, 2002)

congrats to your weight loss and anniversary! I am only 5 weeks post-op LAP RNY and am basically only using the protein drinks b/c i cannot eat very much. but from what I hear from many people and my surgeon and nutritionist that the more protein you can get in, the faster you can lose the weight. So hopefully, you will expect to end that plateau you are on soon! Alteast you are maintaining your weight though, that is the great thing! :) goodluck to you!!

Most days I SWEAR my protein supp is the only thing standing between my present wt and the projected stats for my surgery. My surgeon requires quite a bit (120g), but if I use more (180g+), it works like a shield against appetite & cravings. Just be sure you are not adding any sugar to your protein drinks, like milk or real juices. Rather than "a banana", use some slices.
